Data is the most well known thing in technology which travels from here to there and it can be anything. Your childhood photos, school documents, blah blah. But the most important is its privacy. Some people want their data to be only accessible for them which can also be called personal data while some companies have terabytes of data like a employment records, development files, investment charts which are said to be confidential data.

Well, if you are the one who wants to secure his data but has no idea what to know then you're at the right place. Today, we're gonna discuss about protecting your data in which we'll use encryption.

What is Encryption?

First thing first, Encryption is known as the best method for securing data. What actually encryption does is, it transforms the data into cipher text which can not be understood and generates a key which is used for reverting the data back into the same state which is also called decryption. Encryption is also used in military and government industries to protect the data and it is also everywhere from big companies to small personal computer. There are many algorithms used for encryption such as stream cipher, block cipher, asymmetric encryption etc.

How To Encrypt A Drive?

So, Here is the interesting part that how can we encrypt a drive. There is not a rocket science behind this but just simple steps which I'm gonna show you below. Remember, this guide is specially for windows users. First of all, you have to decide which partition or drive you want to encrypt so prepare it first and put your private files in it. After that, we'll use BitLocker, which is the default windows encryption program, to encrypt our drive.
  • Go To My Computer >> Right Click on the drive which you want to encrypt.
  • Click on "Turn on BitLocker"
  • Tick mark "Use a password to unlock the drive"
  • Enter Password and also re-enter.
  • Click Next
  • Now you'll asked to backup your recovery key
  • Here you have several ways to backup your recovery key. You can save it in your Microsoft account, USB flash drive, a file or print it.
  • Choose the best method that suits you.
  • Done!

Speed Up PC
Who doesn't like being fast? Either it is PC, bike, car, mobile or a mind. Well, from now people who are having super slow computers will be able speed up their PCs using this easy guide on which we're going to talk below.

This guide will not make your PC go beyond stock speeds but it is for those who're not even getting stock speed of their PC and are affected by other programs. This is going to be Windows system but for Mac and Linux users we might release another article only on their demands. Well, Enough talk let's start it.

Removing Unwanted Programs

The first thing we got to do is removing the unwanted bulky programs which you do not use. These programs can eat up your PC's memory (RAM), some space in drive and they are also annoying when they pop up several moments. The simple and easy way to remove is to Go to Control Panel >> Programs and Features and there you will get the list of all installed programs. There, you can uninstall a program by right clicking and following next steps. Now, you just have to remove those programs which you do not use. You have to recognize programs on your own but skip Microsoft .Net Framework, Visual C++ Redistributable because these things are necessary for your PC to work effectively.

Viruses, Malware, Adware, Spyware...

Our second step is to remove viruses, malware, adware, spyware and all type of viruses. These are the most nasty things that make the PC slower most of the times. Your PC can be virus affected with many ways such as installing cracked softwares, downloading files from untrusted site, USB devices and many more. To get rid of viruses, it is always recommended to have good Antivirus in your system. But at this situation, it could take really long to install Antivirus and scan your system so we've got to use another method.

There are many free & premium Antivirus Rescue bootable CDs which you can download and buy from the store. I recommend Avast, Avira and AVG. Just download any of their bootable ISO file and make your USB bootable. Then simply boot from USB drive and perform the complete system scan.

Disable Startup Programs

There are also some programs which are automatically started during the startup of your Windows PC. In order to speed up your PC a bit more, you should disable startup programs only which you do not want to start at that time. In order to disable startup programs, Go to RUN, type "msconfig" and hit Enter. Now a system configuration window will appear in which you have to head into startup tab. Now if you're using Windows 7 and older versions of windows than all the programs which startup at boot time will appear there and can be simply disabled from there but if you're using Windows 8 and newer version of windows you'll be asked to open task manager. Simply, click that link and task manager with startup tab will be opened. Disable unnecessary programs by right clicking and you're good to go.

Close System Tray Programs

Some programs always want to keep running in background just like Skype. Which can also slowdown your PC. So, you should take care of them by looking up system tray programs and if there are any unwanted programs, go ahead and close right away.

Final Touches

That's all for now on how can we speed up your PC and we hope it worked for you. If it didn't than let us know in comments and if yes than don't forget to share this post with your friends. Cheers!
